Itinerary
Day Trip To Ourika Valley :
After your breakfast, your journey will takes you to Ourika village where you will explore the charming valley nestled high in the Atlas Mountains. Located south of Marrakech, the road traveled to get there crosses the plain of Haouz for 30 miles and turn towards Aghmat.
At Aghmat discover an abandoned village. All that remains is the original construction of Moatamid mausoleum, a prince and Andalusian poet captured during the conquest of Seville in 109.
After returning to the main road, we will travel approximately 1.8 miles further south to a trail that leads to œdouar (village) of Ourika. The lively souk here really comes alive on Mondays!
The Ourika River pierces the foothills of the Atlas making the valley green with orchards and terraced crops. This beautiful valley is also punctuated by a string of small douar homes. Ourika atmosphere and unique decor is sure to impress!
Day Trip To Imlil :
After breakfast you will travel to Toubkal Massif, a national park full of craggy mountain peaks and deep valleys. Once we get there you will enjoy an approximately 40 minute hike to a restaurant for lunch facing Mount Toubkal (12,700 ft), the second highest African summit after Kilimanjaro. Roads teem with peasants, domestic animals, scooters and Lorries belching diesel fumes. We will exit at the small village of Imlil, the starting point for exploring the Toubkal area.
Those unable to hike to the restaurant can hire a mule from a local for an additional cost.
